The Alibaba Singles Day Shopping Event reaches the sales record of $ 30bn

Alibaba Singles Day has overtaken Black Friday and Cyber Monday as the largest single-day shopping event in the world.  According to Alibaba, customers spent $ 30.8 billion in 24 hours, a substantial increase in gross merchandise volume (GMV) worth $ 25.3 billion spent by Baba buyers in 2017. Singles Day was originally created as a student holiday to celebrate single person to which Ali Baba turned it into an online shopping festival in 2009, which is now the largest online shopping festival in the world. The best international brands participated in the event, including Apple, Dyson, Kindle, Estee Lauder, L’Oréal, Nestlé, Gap, Nike and Adidas, 180,000 brands sold more than $ 30 billion in products
