Folding phones will be the next big thing. Even the TCL TV manufacturer is getting into the game. Several brands are expected to announce a foldable smartphone this year, including Samsung and Huawei, although some patents and representations suggest that TCL will do something a little differently. Patents show five devices with flexible displays, including two tablets, smart phones, and perhaps more interesting, a smart phone that can be folded into a wrist watch. Both tablets and smartphones seem to be in two variants: a tablet and a smartphone offer a screen that folds inward as a cover, while the other variants show a screen on the outside, similar to the one Royole launched in CES 2019 with your FlexPai folding smart phone. The other device seems to be tall and thin with the ability to bend around the wrist in a bracelet design.
Other original equipment manufacturers, such as Xiaomi, Oppo and Motorola, have their own plans for this technology in the near future. Now you can add TCL to this growing list as well.
